About Us:

Polly's Freeze has been around since 1952 and is still going strong in 2012.

In the early 1950's, Elmer and Polly Gleitz decided to no longer run their downtown Louisville filling station, but to look for a new location in the rural setting. While out driving, they came across a vacant filling station outside of Georgetown, IN. They purchased the property and began work on it immediately.
However, Polly came up with the idea to run an ice cream/food stand instead. Thus, Polly's Freeze was born. Elmer and Polly ran Polly's Freeze for many years before they handed over the business to their children - George, Donna, and Delores. It was Donna and her husband Paul Eisert who have made Polly's Freeze what it is today. They always believed in serving quality products and putting customers first.
In 2009, Paul and Donna decided to retire. Because Polly's Freeze is known for its family atmosphere, it was turned over to members of the Polly's Freeze family. In 2009 and 2010, long-time employee (32 years) Penny Bodner ran Polly's Freeze with her husband Micah. In 2011, the family decided to pursue other opportunities and Paul and Donna asked two other experienced employees, Mike and Cara Rothrock to continue the Polly's Freeze tradition. This will be Cara's 18th year with Polly's Freeze and Mike's 11th year. This husband and wife team have a deep commitment to Polly's Freeze and the community it serves. They hope to add to the rich history of Polly's Freeze and continue to preserve this local landmark for decades to come.
